IPL Photofacial FAQs
What is the IPL Photofacial difference?
Comfort. The Cutera Limelight pulsed light system is exceptionally effective for treating brown spots, sun damage and skin redness (rosacea), at a very comfortable energy level. There is no need to apply topical anesthetic beforehand, and you can realize remarkable results in just one or two photofacial treatments.
What does the IPL Photofacial laser treatment do?
The visible light delivered by the IPL procedure is selectively absorbed by the pigmented spots and red areas on your skin. The photofacial laser heats the pigmented cells that causes the therapeutic effect.
What do IPL Photofacial treatments feel like?
When the photofacial hand piece is placed on your skin, it will feel cool and comfortable. When the pulse of light is delivered, you may feel a mild, brief pinching sensation.
How many IPL Photofacial laser treatments will a patient need?
Typically, two to four IPL treatments are sufficient to see dramatic results. Additional laser treatments may be required for very large or dark spots, densely freckled areas, or excessively sun-damaged skin.
When will a patient see results from an IPL Photofacial treatment?
After the IPL treatment, superficial brown spots will become darker within the first 24 hours and flake off in 7 – 14 days. Patients will see significant improvement in the sun spots in two weeks while the complexion will be clearer and younger looking as collagen is produced over time.
How much can we charge for an IPL treatment?
IPL price is dependent on the area being treated and the number of procedures required for the desired result. Expect to charge somewhere between $250 to $350 for a full face.We will work on a fee schedule that makes sense for the city your office is located in.
